Gajino is the digital learning platform of Gaj International Publishing, designed to serve millions of students through structured educational content. When I joined, the product had strong content and brand recognition, but the overall experience lacked scalability, accessibility, and a cohesive product strategy. I initially came in as a Product Design Lead, but quickly transitioned into a Product Leadership role, taking ownership of both the student experience and product direction.
One of the most critical challenges was accessibility. A large portion of our users either did not have access to high-end smartphones or preferred using web-based platforms. To address this, I led the design and development of a Progressive Web App (PWA), enabling seamless cross-device access without compromising core functionality. This decision significantly expanded our reach, and within a short period, active users scaled to over two million, directly linking product strategy to user growth.
Beyond access, I focused heavily on improving student motivation and retention. Learning products often struggle with consistency, so I redesigned the learning journey to reduce friction and make progress more visible and rewarding. By introducing gamified systems such as streaks, rewards, and competitive elements, alongside simplifying lesson entry points, we were able to create a more engaging and habit-forming experience. Through continuous experimentation and iteration, these changes resulted in an overall retention increase of more than 20% across the user lifecycle.
At an organizational level, I worked closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, and leadership to align product decisions with business outcomes. I also extended my role beyond the core product, contributing to Gaj Market by integrating e-learning services with marketplace features. This helped bridge content consumption with commercial opportunities, creating a more connected ecosystem for users.
In parallel, I focused on improving internal product capabilities. By establishing clearer design systems, improving handoff processes, and introducing structured experimentation frameworks, we significantly reduced friction between teams and accelerated delivery cycles. Managing and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, I ensured that product decisions were both data-informed and operationally feasible.
These combined efforts transformed Gajino into a more scalable and accessible platform, supporting millions of students with a significantly improved learning experience. More importantly, the product evolved from a content-driven service into a more dynamic, user-centered learning ecosystem with strong foundations for continued growth.
